Below we show the gas liquid interface that occurs at each pore.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/rccostello.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/BLOG-PIC.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-812\" src=\"http:\/\/rccostello.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/BLOG-PIC.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"910\" height=\"525\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rccostello.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/BLOG-PIC.jpg 910w, https:\/\/www.rccostello.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/BLOG-PIC-300x173.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rccostello.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/BLOG-PIC-768x443.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 910px) 100vw, 910px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The following example demonstrates the stripping of Methyl Tert-Butyl Ether (MTBE) from water with the Fluxxion Metallic Membrane.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stripping of MTBE from Water<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The stripping MTBE from water by nitrogen at ambient conditions was used as a test system for performance evaluation purposes. Inlet concentration of MTBE, different flow rates for liquid and gas were varied in a wide range. The best efficiency was achieved in all cases at lowest liquid flow rate, and tended to decrease progressively with increasing liquid flow rate, i.e. decreasing residence time. Gas flow rate exhibited practically no effect on separation, indicating that this system also can be considered as fully controlled by liquid side mass transfer resistance.
